Comprehensive Refurbishment of a Mid-Century Family Home
This project involved the complete refurbishment of a substantial mid-century house in Hampstead Heath, designed to accommodate a large family and their evolving needs.
The brief was to create a home that could support both everyday family life and larger-scale entertaining, while maintaining a sense of cohesion and flow throughout.
The interior was carefully reconfigured to form a clear and connected sequence of spaces. A series of generous reception rooms allows the house to function flexibly, from intimate daily use to hosting larger gatherings. These include a formal dining room designed to seat up to twenty guests, a large reception room, games room and dedicated office spaces.
Upstairs, seven bedroom suites were designed to provide privacy and comfort, each with its own distinct character while maintaining a consistent overall language.
Throughout the house, the focus was on creating a calm and well-resolved interior, combining high-quality materials with precise detailing. The design balances scale with warmth, ensuring that the house feels both generous and comfortable to live in.
The result is a cohesive family home that supports a variety of ways of living — from relaxed day-to-day use to larger social occasions — all delivered to a consistently high standard.
