Internal Remodelling and Reconfiguration
This project involved a major internal remodelling of an Arts and Crafts house, transforming a series of cellular rooms into a more open and contemporary living environment.
The existing layout was fragmented, with enclosed spaces that limited light, flow and flexibility. The brief called for a more generous arrangement of rooms that could better support modern family life.
A key intervention was the relocation of the staircase, which allowed the plan to be reorganised more effectively. This change freed up the internal layout, creating a clearer connection between spaces and enabling a more open and adaptable arrangement.
With the removal of internal walls, the house was reconfigured to form a sequence of light-filled rooms that feel connected while still retaining a sense of structure and proportion.
The result is a calm and contemporary interior that respects the character of the original house while providing a more practical and spacious environment for everyday living.
