Apartment Amalgamation and Interior Design
This project involved the amalgamation of two apartments within Portman Towers to create a single, cohesive family home overlooking central London.
Working within the constraints of a tower block, the design carefully responded to the fixed structural and service elements, using them to organise a clear and efficient layout. The aim was to maximise the sense of space while taking full advantage of the panoramic views across the city.
The apartment was designed to function both as a family home and as a setting for the client’s extensive art collection. As a result, particular attention was given to lighting design, with specialist lighting carefully integrated to enhance and display artwork throughout the space.
The material palette is deliberately restrained, with polished plaster walls and bespoke oak joinery used consistently across the apartment. This creates a calm and neutral backdrop, allowing the artwork and views to take focus.
The result is a refined and highly considered interior that balances practical family living with the display of art, set within a dramatic urban context.
